For years now, I have donated 100% of profits from calendar sales to a cause that my heart is drawn to for the year. Each year, we have raised thousands of dollars with these calendars, brimming with my art.

Can you believe it?! It is year 7 of this art-filled fundraising calendar. For three years, we gave thousands of dollars to 3 specific adoptive families and their journeys into both domestic and international adoption. Then, we gave to World Relief to support refugee care. The next year, we supported America's Kids Belong, a national organization dedicated to dramatically improving the experiences and outcomes and outcomes of kids in foster care. Last year, we gave just under TEN THOUSAND dollars to the Isaiah 117 House, which is a beautiful, grassroots organization that is dramatically changing the way foster care begins, in Tennessee and beyond.
This year, we are going to give again to the Isaiah 117 House. There are a few specific reasons for this. The first is that their mission collides so intimately with what my family and I have, and continue to experience, in our lives as an open foster home. The second is that the enthusiasm for this organization was unmatched among my annual calendar supporters. I saw you rally behind their mission so intensely. You messaged me. You came into the shop to tell me how glad you were to be a part of it. You shared, gifted, and cheered the calendar on more than any other year, and the donation total showed it! Finally, Isaiah 117 is in the midst of building not one, but TWO houses in Memphis, where I live. The first is set to open at the end of 2024 or early 2025, and they need our support now more than ever!
Isaiah 117 House exists for a three fold mission :
• Reduce trauma for kids awaiting placement
• Lighten the load for child welfare services
• Ease the transition for foster families
It has, and continues to be, a huge problem that children entering the foster system do not often have a safe, inviting place to await their foster families. Isaiah 117 Houses everywhere are living, breathing homes that say that this is simply unacceptable, and that our precious foster children need something different. They need a warm home to play and snack and bathe and wait in, rather than a sterile DCS office. They need to know they are not alone, not in trouble, and so very loved on one of the darkest, scariest days of their life.
From the bottom of my heart-- thank you for buying this calendar. It is my hope and prayer that this will be our biggest year ever, and that we can give more generously than ever-- watching art multiply for the causes of the most vulnerable.
